Police K9 Program

K-9 Rony is a male German Shepherd imported into the United States from Czechoslovakia. Rony was trained at Shallow Creek Kennels in Sharpsville, PA. K-9 Rony is a dual purpose K-9, trained in Narcotics and Patrol Work. The Narcotics training means that Rony is trained to aggressively indicate the odors of marijuana, heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine. The Patrol work includes tracking for lost people or suspects, searching buildings or areas for suspects, handler protection and obedience. K-9 Rony began working with Officer Hanke in July of 2015. Rony is a member of Officer Hanke’s family and resides in his home. Off. Hanke and K-9 Rony are available for presentations.
