City of Ripon Receives Additional $399,137 for Library Renovation Project

The City of Ripon has been awarded an additional $399,137.85 through the State of Wisconsin’s Flexible Facilities Program (FFP) to support the renovation of the Ripon Public Library.

The additional award increases the City’s total FFP funding for the project to $2,384,137.85. The Wisconsin Department of Administration awarded additional funding following the availability of approximately $2.13 million in program funds resulting from administrative cost savings in the implementation of the Flexible Facilities Program and other Capital Projects Fund programs.

The City requested additional funding as the library renovation project approached completion, seeking to reduce the amount of local funding needed to complete the project.

“This additional funding is tremendous news for the City and the Ripon Public Library,” Mayor Theodore Grant said. “It allows us to complete an important investment in our library while significantly reducing the library's financial commitment to the project. Just as importantly, these additional funds will allow the library to preserve more of its existing fund balance, providing greater financial stability for the library in the years ahead.”

The library renovation represents a significant investment in one of Ripon’s most important community facilities. The project has modernized the building, improved accessibility and functionality, and created updated spaces to better serve residents and meet the changing needs of the community.

The City originally received $1.985 million through the Flexible Facilities Program for the renovation. With the additional award, total FFP funding for the project has increased by more than 20 percent to approximately $2.384 million.

The Flexible Facilities Program is administered by the Wisconsin Department of Administration and funded through the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Capital Projects Fund.

The City and Ripon Public Library recently completed final project walk-throughs as construction work reaches completion.
