New In-fill Housing Development Program
The City of Ripon is offering up to $10,000 per housing unit to encourage the construction of new single-family homes and duplexes on vacant or under-utilized lots in the city’s older neighborhoods. This program helps offset permitting and utility connection costs for in-fill housing projects—supporting smart growth, neighborhood revitalization, and efficient use of existing infrastructure.
Eligible Projects
✔ New single-family homes
✔ New duplexes (eligible for up to $20,000 total)
✔ Located on vacant residential lots zoned R-1, R-2, or R-3
✔ Must be outside of the Sandmar and Rolling Hills subdivisions
✔ Must meet all City zoning, permitting, and building requirements
Eligible Reimbursement Costs

Private water/sewer lateral connection costs

Sidewalk and street restoration related to utility work
Reimbursements are available after the home is completed and a Certificate of Occupancy is issued.
