Street Tree Planting Program

Street Tree Planting Program

To replace the street trees that have been lost by the 2021 storm and the Emerald Ash Borer infestation, the City of Ripon is creating a Street Tree Planting Program. The program will provide residents with a street tree if they agree to help plant and maintain the tree. City staff will assist the resident with planting the tree in an appropriate location in the boulevard. The resident will then adopt the tree and agree to water and provide basic tree care as the tree develops.

There is no fee to the resident to participate in the program. All trees in this program are required to be planted within the area of the right-of-way in front of or on the sides of the resident’s property. The right-of-way area (boulevard) available for planting the trees varies at each property. The City will assess the boulevard area to make sure that there is adequate space to plant the tree. Residents are limited to one (1) tree per property. This program is offered at a first come, first served basis and while trees are available.

The City of Ripon reserves the right to deny any request based on any factors they deem necessary.
