Ripon Public Safety Cadets Unit
The Ripon Police Department collaborates with a non-profit organization Public Safety Cadets. The cadet program is for youth and young adults between the ages of 14-20. Members must be enrolled in school and in good standing, have graduated from 8th grade, and pass a background check.
The cadets will meet at the Ripon Police Department once or twice a month, during the evening hours. The cadets will receive both hands-on and classroom training that cover a variety of public safety related topics. These topics can include traffic stops, medical response, crime scene investigations, evidence handling, arrest and search, and more.
The cadets will have the opportunity to participate in various competitions held throughout Wisconsin. In addition, cadets will have ride along opportunities, ability to apply for scholarships, and attend public safety cadet events.
