Building Inspection & Zoning

The inspector issues permits and provides building, electrical and plumbing inspections for residential and commercial construction and remodeling, and provides assistance with zoning issues.

  • Building permits are required for "any" building work over $200 in actual costs.
  • Call the building inspector with any questions in regards to when a permit is required.
  • Permit fees shall be paid to the building, electrical, plumbing and heating inspector before the inspector shall issue to the contractor, owner or his agent a building, electrical, plumbing, or heating permit.
  • If work is commenced before a building permit is issued or permission to start is granted by the Building Inspector, all fees shall be doubled.
